“Come run the hidden pine trails of the forest, Come taste the sunsweet berries of the earth, Come roll in all the riches all around you, And for once never wonder what they’re worth.
The rainstorm and the river are my brother, The heron and the otter are my friends, And we are all connected to each other, In a circle, in a hoop that never ends.” - From ‘Colors of the Wind’ by composer Alan Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz
“In a perfect world, children will grow up to be healthy, happy and free! In the real world, there are many influences that children encounter which may positively or negatively affect their lives. Poverty is the biggest one. Children every where are basically the same. I think it’s unfair that some children have more privileges than others. I also feel very sad when I think that some kids don’t have things that I have, like clean clothing and a cozy bed. Please help us to help children all over the world who really need our help.”
- From Jaida Hodge-Adams, with Love.
